On Demand Grass vs. Plowz and Mowz

May 17, 2018

A customer contacted On Demand Grass Landscaping through our website this week for an emergency lawn mowing in Bolingbrook, IL. He said he had been trying to use Plowz and Mowz but the service providers kept not showing up and the service needed to be rescheduled. Repeatedly they told him they would get back to him and they are now making it a hassle for him to get his payment back. Now he is in a tight spot because the lawn is overgrown. We are going to take care of this customer today. This is something that we hear often from these companies with task apps and that we have also experienced ourselves as providers.

Last year Thumbtack was popular out here and it burned bright and then fizzled out quickly after service providers started reporting that they experienced bidding on 'fake' jobs. None of these companies work because they all try to 'connect' the 'independent contractor' with the consumer by getting the way of the consumer and the contractor. The cost is much higher than any average service because they have to get a piece of the action and up-charge for that. Also, too many moving parts or division of labor that just do not make the seemingly hassle-free experience quick or easy.

We have an app too if you have to have an app to contact us and simply say, "I would like to have my lawn mowed." It really is that simple. There is a link to the Google Play  store on the homepage of this website and this website is optimized for mobile so no need to even download the app. Fill out the contact form on the website or app and we will let you know the schedule availability and go from there. Obviously our service area is not nation-wide but you can achieve what you are trying to accomplish without making a simple task unnecessarily difficult.
